For your consideration is this highly attractive 1972 Zenith A386 MKIII "El Primero" automatic chronograph.
This watch was acquired from the original owner's daughter who discovered it in an attic where it sat in a box for the past 25 years.
The watch was super grimy when found, and it was not working. (see pictures of the watch as is was found).
The caseback was so tight (due to the grime) and could not be opened so the watch had to be sent to Zenith's Heritage Department in Switzerland.
The watch has been fully serviced by Zenith Heritage Department with strict instructions to leave all important parts intact and to not refinish the case.
(The only non-movement parts that were replaced are the pushers and date wheel. All original parts were returned by Zenith and will be included with the watch).
The watch just returned from Zenith this past May fully serviced & covered by a Zenith service warranty.
The watch is accompanied by a Zenith Certificate Of Authenticity, and a Zenith Extract Of The Archives, as well as a service receipt.
This is one of the nicest, purest examples of a MKIII A386 from the very last run of these amazing watches.
The patina on the dial & hands on this example is simply sublime and rarely seen with this incredibly even & custardy patina.
This is a rare opportunity to obtain a fully documented virgin example of a MKIII El Primero sourced directly from the original owner's family with full provenance.
